About

Our Vision

SOS International exists to accelerate world evangelization, develop disciples of Jesus Christ and alleviate human suffering.

Our Strategy

SOS International invites seasoned, experienced teachers, pastors and professors – experts in their fields – to equip, resource and encourage indigenous leaders in areas they request. These leaders, in turn, train the next generation of ministry leaders in their spheres of influence.

This distinctive approach to missions and ministry multiplies the impact of the training these leaders receive and maximizes the investment of knowledge, experience and resources of seasoned ministry professionals.

What Drives and Directs SOS International?

SOS International is driven by two vital objectives:  that “all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth,” (1 Timothy 2:4); and that disciples of Jesus be developed in every nation (Matthew 28:19-20).

SOS International is directed by the scriptural responsibility of the leadership corps of the Church to equip the saints for the work of ministry for the building up of the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).

Presently, 90% of ministry leaders worldwide have little or no training to fulfill their ministries (TOPIC). When leaders are equipped with biblically-rooted training, the Body of Christ is better able to fulfill it’s God-given mission.

Dr. Richard Frazer

Our History

SOS International was founded by Rev. Henry E. (Hank) and Marjorie Jones. Following a 20-year career in the Marine Corps, Hank served as a pastor in Costa Mesa, CA for nine years and, in 1970, moved to Vietnam to serve with Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU).  In 1975, Hank became Campus Crusade’s Oceana Pacific Coordinator.

Four years later, in 1979, the Joneses launched SOS International to deliver quality training to indigenous ministry leaders around the world. SOS International has equipped tens of thousands of indigenous ministry leaders in more than 90 countries since 1979.

SOS International has a proven track record of expanding the ministry of equippers (pastors, ministry leaders and professors) to international proportions as they pass on their training and experience to indigenous leaders around the world through strategic and fruitful training opportunities.

Riding “The Third Wave” of equipping indigenous ministry leaders and resourcing them to equip ministry leaders in their spheres of influence, SOS International is intentionally enlarging the number of resourced indigenous trainers who are influencing future generations of Christian leaders.

Trinidad and Tobago

“The sessions and materials were right in line with the needs we expressed. Both trainers brought a wealth of experience and an honesty/openness in their approach that was refreshing. SOS International’s emphasis on finding people who have already walked and thought through the issues they are addressing really guarantees impact. We are looking forward to further interaction with SOS in the area of leadership training.”

Mr. Joe Caterson – Executive Secretary, Association of Evangelical Bible Churches of Trinidad and Tobago
